Tracking

Tracking Environment Recommendations

Regardless of the tracking mode used, reflective surfaces such as mirrors or certain TV screens should be avoided, as they can interfere with tracking performance. Some lighting elements may also emit infrared (IR) signals that can negatively affect tracking accuracy.

Lighthouse Tracking

For base station installation and to achieve an optimal tracking area, please refer to the official Vive documentation:

https://www.vive.com/eu/support/vive-pro2/category_howto/base-stations.html

If the position or orientation of any base station is modified, a new room setup must be performed.

Inside-Out Tracking

Rooms with completely uniform or monochromatic surfaces do not provide optimal tracking conditions. It is recommended to have sufficient visual variation in the environment to improve tracking accuracy or, at a minimum, prevent tracking performance from degrading.

Vive Ultimate Tracker

Vive Ultimate Trackers also rely on the surrounding environment for positioning. A thorough environmental scan is required to ensure the best possible tracking performance.

Steam VR Accepted Trackers Roles

Due to a limitation of Unreal Engine, SkyrealVR accepts only the following of assigned trackers. This means that in SteamVR - Trackers Configuration, all the active trackers must have one of the following names:
