FAQ — XR Center

What is XR Center?

XR Center is the server component of the Skyreal VR ecosystem. It manages workspaces, experiences, users, and extensions centrally. Deck (the client application) connects to XR Center to access and launch experiences.

Can I use Deck without XR Center?

Yes. Deck can run in standalone mode where experiences and data are managed locally. However, centralized features like user management, shared workspaces, and remote extension deployment require XR Center.

How do I create a workspace?

  1. Open the Deck client application

  2. Navigate to the workspace management area

  3. Click Create Workspace

  4. Fill in the workspace name and settings

  5. Add members and assign permissions

How do I launch a Skyreal VR experience?

  1. Open Deck and navigate to the desired workspace

  2. Select the experience you want to launch

  3. Click the Launch button

  4. Choose between Desktop or VR mode

What is an editor experience?

An editor experience is a type of experience that allows you to open and edit it directly in Unreal Editor. This is intended for users with advanced Unreal Engine knowledge who need to customize their experience beyond what standard preparation offers.

How do I share experiences between users?

Experiences are shared through workspaces. All members of a workspace can access the experiences within it (subject to their permission level). Use XR Center's user management features to control access.

How do I back up my XR Center data?

XR Center stores data in ArangoDB. Use ArangoDB's built-in backup tools (arangodump/arangorestore) to create and restore database backups. Additionally, back up the file storage directories configured in XR Center.
