[This page describes how to use SKYREAL for engineering workflows. Content is based on the platform's capabilities and typical engineering scenarios.]

What is Engineering in SKYREAL?

SKYREAL provides engineers with an immersive environment to analyze geometry, verify tolerances, run physics simulations, and validate technical decisions on full-scale 3D models before physical prototyping.

Typical Workflow

  1. Import your CAD — Upload detailed engineering models into CAD Forge.

  2. Create an experience from the relevant parts or assemblies.

  3. Inspect geometry — Navigate at real scale to verify part fit and clearances.

  4. Take measurements — Use the Measure tool to check distances, angles, and dimensions.

  5. Create section cuts — Inspect internal features with Cutting Geometry.

  6. Run physics — Enable Advanced Physics or XDE Workbench for mechanical simulation.

  7. Design in VR — Use the Design tool to create pipes, cables, or placeholder geometry directly in VR.

  8. Apply filters — Use metadata-based filters to color-code or show/hide parts by engineering criteria.

  9. Export back to CAD — Use the Save and Back to CAD features to push modifications to your CAD software (CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE, Solidworks, Inventor, Revit).

  10. Collaborate — Share findings with colleagues in multi-user VR sessions.
